The inaugural 1st INTERNATIONAL DRAGON BOAT FEDERATION (IDBF) CANCER SURVIVORS WORLD CUP 2011 held in conjunction with MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL (MIDBF) will be hosted at the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex from 20th to 23rd October 2011. |
| The Dragon Boat Race and Festival has always been a very popular event held globally with international participations and recognition from the world over, resulting in having attracted attention from tourists and spectators, and wide media coverage. With participation from over international teams the world over, the 1st IDBF Cancer Survivors World Cup (IDBF CSWC) held in conjunction with Malaysia International Dragon Boat Festival 2011 at Malaysia’s Administrative Capital of Putrajaya is a competition at international level organised for the first time ever in the world. This internationally recognized global water sports racing event has always a packed lively audience of both participants and spectators and is a visually spectacular international event which spells everything that is in line with the spirit of 1Malaysia; an event that is all about unity, teamwork and friendships between communities. Indeed 1Malaysia is the right formula not only for national harmony but also for enhancing regional and global peace, especially in the field of sporting events such as this. Embracing the principles of unity and values in fostering multicultural integration with mutual respect for each other as a nation, the event brings international communities in the region to come together to compete in a spectacular sporting event – a ONE GLOBAL VILLAGE of sports athletes coming together in Malaysia on one platform to compete in an international event.
